1. Information we collect

If you play Jam Bingo or use the JamSocial app:

• Profile details: your name, username, and anything you add to your bio.
• Social and contact details you choose to add, such as LinkedIn or Instagram links, an email address, or a phone number.
• Connections: who you connect with by scanning QR codes or entering codes, when, and at which event, along with the prompts you were playing when you connected.
• Introductions you post for an event, and private notes you write about people you've met.
• Your email address, if you add one to sign in or recover your account.

If you organize an event:

• Your name, email address, and organization.
• Event details, prompts, logos, and branding you add.
• Answers to our sign-up questions (for example, what kind of event you're running and how you heard about us), along with the pages you visited on our website and your IP address.
• Billing information. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we don't receive or store your full card number.

Automatically, when you use the Service:

• Device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser, device type, and the pages you visit.
• Information stored in your browser's local storage, such as your login token, so you stay signed in (see Cookies and local storage below).

If you contact us, we also keep the messages you send us.

2. How we use information

• To run the Service: creating your account, running games, saving your connections, and showing your profile to the people you meet.
• To show organizers how their event went, such as the number of players and connections.
• To send you messages about your account, your events, and the Service, such as login codes and event recaps. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
• To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To understand how the Service is used, fix problems, and improve it.
• To measure how well our ads work, as described below.
• To follow the law and enforce our Terms.

3. What other people can see

Jam Bingo is built to help people connect, so some of your information is shared with other users:

• People you connect with can see your name, username, bio, and the social and contact details you've added. You can edit or remove these at any time.
• Introductions you post for an event can be seen by everyone who attended that event.
• Your profile may show a few "Did you know?" facts, based on the Jam Bingo prompts people matched you on at events you've attended.
• The organizer of an event you join can see that you played and your activity in their game, such as how many people you connected with. Your name may appear on the game's leaderboard.
• Notes you write about people you've met are private to you.

4. How we share information

We only share personal information in these cases:

• With service providers who help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting and database providers, email delivery providers, and Stripe for payments. They may only use the information to provide services to us.
• With advertising and analytics partners, for example a conversion measurement pixel from OpenAI on our website that helps us understand whether our ads lead to sign-ups.
• With event organizers and other users, as described above.
• If the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or JamSocial.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, in which case this Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Jam Bingo Google Slides add-on

Jam Bingo only accesses the Google Slides presentation you have open, to add the bingo slide, and does not store or share your Google data.

• The add-on only asks for the permissions it needs to add the Jam Bingo slide to your current presentation. It doesn't read your other files, email, or contacts.
• We don't store your presentation content or other Google user data on our servers, and we don't sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
• Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can remove the add-on at any time from your Google account settings.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and remember which pages you've visited on our website. Our advertising and analytics partners may also set cookies to measure how our website and ads perform.

You can clear local storage and block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, you may be signed out and some features may not work.

7. How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to provide the Service. When you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it for legal, tax, accounting, or security reasons.

Sign-up answers from organizers who start creating an account but don't finish verifying their email may be kept so we can understand and improve our sign-up process.

8. Your choices and rights

You can view and edit most of your information, like your profile and social details, directly in the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or limit how we use it, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, email us. We may need to confirm your identity first. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of those emails.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections and access controls. No online service is completely secure, though, so we can't guarantee the security of your information.

10. International transfers

We and our service providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. These countries may have different data protection laws than where you live. When we transfer information, we take steps to protect it as described in this policy.

11. Children's privacy

The Service isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll try to give you notice, for example by email or in the Service.
