Here’s the general run for running Human Bingo, whether you use Jam Bingo or traditional paper bingo:

There must be a dedicated time—30 seconds to 2 minutes—to explain the rules and initiate the game.

• Just as you would with any game, it must be initiated. You have to give permission for people to play.
• Imagine a game of “tag” where only a few people are playing and everyone else isn’t. Those playing will have a hard time interacting with the rest.
• • As the host, facilitator, or human bingo master, you must initiate the game.

How to start the game: Get up on stage or make a public announcement like this:

• Hey everyone, thanks for coming out! It’s time to shake things up with a networking game: Jam Bingo (or Paper Networking Bingo).
• I’d like everyone to scan this Jam Bingo QR code (or grab a sheet of paper).
• You’ll have questions to answer by finding someone else in the room.
• The goal is to meet and engage with new people in the room.
